Job Description: 

The Quality Engineer (QE) is a technical leader who teams with multiple departments to ensure the business meets quality and delivery goals. The QE will utilize analytical and problem-solving techniques to resolve quality problems and drive improvement.

 

  • Interpret, implement, and conform to customer requirements.
  • Develop and approve quality procedures.
  • Develop and maintain inspection plans/ standards.
  • Oversee implementation of calibration systems for inspection and process testing procedures/equipment used in manufacturing operations in accordance with AS9100 standards.
  • Actively coordinate and be responsible for new product launch activities and revised designs as assigned.
  • Manage daily activities of the quality inspector/auditor, coordinate and improve quality control process with responsibility for high-level product quality.
  • Analyze customer complaints, returns and professionally support customer communication.
  • Improve quality processes focusing on customer satisfaction and competitiveness through six sigma and Lean tools.
  • Provide auditing and compliance support.
  • Provide input on continuous and process improvement.
  • Chair the Material Review Board
  • Generate corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Help to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Compile and evaluate statistical data reflective of product reliability and quality.
  • Offer day-to-day support to manufacturing for quality issues.
  • Review and evaluate suppliers and materials.

 

Requirements For Consideration

  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in Quality Engineering, Process Engineering, or Engineering project management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Customer interaction experience, including customer visits, customer complaints, and claims management.
  • Ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to read drawings, specifications, and acceptance test procedures.
  • Experience in the application of APQP, PPAP, and risk mitigation desired
  • Experience with Value Stream analysis and Lean Methodology desired
  • Proficient in using inspection equipment, such as calipers and micrometers, CMM and Imaging Systems.
  • Ability to attend to external and internal customer issues.
  • Experience in Word, Excel, Oracle, PPT, Access, SQL, and Outlook
  • Product Knowledge or proven aptitude to quickly learn what is needed (Fans, Blowers)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Support Supplier Quality Engineer as Required.
  •  Mechanical or Industrial engineering degree preferred.
  •  Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  •  Experience working in Quality Assurance, ISO/AS environment preferred.
  •  Experience in dealing with customers and suppliers.
  •  Knowledge of GD&T and CMM programming preferred.
  • Strong Knowledge and understanding of QA and QC
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred.

Compensation

Salary Minimum:  $70,000
Salary Maximum:  $110,000
