Summary:

The Applications Specialist position within the Scientific Instruments business is responsible for direct technical support of the electrochemical instrumentation products which include the Princeton Applied Research and Solartron Analytical branded products. The specialist will be an expert in the use of these products requiring a complete understanding of the features, advantages, common use, and common troubleshooting techniques. This position will work closely with the product management team and the other support team members to provide technical assistance and support to internal and external team members, distributors, and customers.  This specialist will also utilize technical expertise to contribute in additional capacities such as providing product feedback, assisting with strategic and tactical marketing, and writing technical documentation focused on products and applications.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist stakeholders and customers with questions about the experimental setup, general use, and advanced troubleshooting of electrochemical instrumentation hardware and software.
  • Collaborate as a key member of the Global Technical Support Team to resolve questions and problems quickly.
  • Provide technical training on products and application to users (both virtually and in-person).
  • Provide best practices and recommendations for experimental design and setup.
  • Assist the sales team with instrument demonstrations.
  • Record all customer interactions into a customer relationship management system.
  • Write solutions and technical guides for common problems and applications.
  • Provide customer feedback to the Product Management team.
  • May Require up to 50% travel 
  • Other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum:  Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with two years of experience in academic or industry within the field(s) of batteries, fuels cells, corrosion, analytical chemistry, or sensors. 

Ideal candidates will have an energy-storage or conversion focus including past publication in peer-reviewed journals.
