Reichert Technologies is now looking for reinforcement - European Union Regional Sales Manager (m/f/d)

The new colleague will be accountable for developing and managing a sales strategy that will allow Reichert to meet operating and strategic plan objectives.  This position will report to the EMEA Regional Sales Director.

 

Candidate location: a home office in Germany (ideally in close proximity to an international airport).

German office location: Unterschleissheim / Munich.

Travel expected: up to 50% throughout the EU countries.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently meet and exceed assigned sales targets and objectives. Targets will be in the form of dollar sales, percent increase over the previous year, and product/instrument mix.
  • Submit an annual Region Business Plan, outlining an organized plan to meet and exceed assigned sales quota. Reviewed each quarter with EMEA Regional Sales Director.
    This plan should incorporate a baseline sales and market discussion followed by a tactical and strategic analysis of how the region's sales will grow.
  • Submit a monthly Region Sales Report, covering sales, personnel, competition, and market trends by the assigned dealer using a template, which will include standardization of data and needed information.
  • Ensure the assigned region is optimally covered by the most experienced, competent, and Reichert-friendly dealers and channel partners who are committed to growing Reichert sales through competitive conversions. 
  • Responsible for having the most productive dealers in place as well as training/certifying dealer personnel as co-salespeople representing Reichert.
  • Effectively manage key financial elements of dealers and channel partners including but not limited to A/R, shared meetings/entertainment, discounting, and 30/60/90-day forecasting.  This is to ensure the highest margins, predictable product flow, and staying within an assigned budget.
  • Personally convert one competitive account every two months.  This can be done solo or in conjunction with an assigned dealer. 
  • Support Reichert marketing and product management, utilizing all sales and clinical materials provided. Provide market and product feedback in “real-time” as it occurs as well as through monthly sales reports.
  • Identify, support, and co-develop regional Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) with dealers and channel partners.  A vital component of successful selling, there should be 4-5 such KOLs per region, subject to evaluation depending upon their support and value to Reichert.
  • Support major trade shows and meetings as directed. Swift follow-up on all leads generated either within the assigned region OR mailing/emailing to peers within 24 hours for their follow-up.
  • Manage assigned sales budget responsibly, adhering to expense reporting accurately and on time as well as allocating funds for local meetings and events that have a high ROI.
  • Strictly adhere to all company policies regarding ethical, legal, and business conduct.
  • Be Accountable for sales quota, dealer success or failure, budget management, and representing Reichert in the most honest and professional manner possible!

 

REQUIRED ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years of sales experience in the ophthalmic industry working in this territory and being a consistent high performer in their field.
  • Strong clinical and technical knowledge relative to eye anatomy and physiology, product design and function, and current standards with ophthalmic diagnoses and treatment.
  • Dealer-distributor experience, growing sales through strong relationships, trust, and establishment of Reichert as the “Flagship” or “Anchor” product line to represent and sell.
  • Strictly adhere to all company policies regarding ethical, legal, and business conduct.
  • Be Accountable for sales quota, distributor success or failure, budget management, and representing Reichert in the most honest and professional manner possible
