Vision Research is a Business Unit in the Materials Analysis Division of AMETEK, Inc. Vision Research manufactures industry leading high-speed digital cameras. Our cameras are primarily sold into industrial, academic, defense and government research facilities. We also have a smaller entertainment-oriented camera business. Although not our primary focus, Vision Research has received both an Academy Award and an Emmy for our technical contribution to the entertainment industry. The Vision Research business unit is composed of three sites, Wayne NJ, Pasadena, CA, and Romania, with over $100M in revenue and approximately 150 employees based at these three sites along with remote locations across the world.

 

The Human Resources Director is an essential member of the Vision Research leadership team contributing to the development and execution of the business’s annual strategic plan.   

This position is a senior staff level role at an AMETEK Business Unit and the individual will play a key role in guiding the strategic direction and leading the efficient execution of activities to profitably grow the business.

 

This position reports directly to the Vision Research Business Unit Manager, with a strong dotted line to the Materials Analysis Division Vice President of Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with managers to provide expertise and hands on support in multiple areas including talent, diversity & inclusion, recruitment, workforce planning, on boarding, employee retention, employee relations, management coaching, performance management and change management
  • Advise and coach managers on HR policies and programs including employee relations matters
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement
  • Recommend improvements to policies, programs, and procedures related to the effectiveness of the HR function
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
  • Track and analyze metrics on talent, employee actions, terminations, and voluntary attrition to recommend actions as needed

 

Requirements for Consideration:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 4+ years of HR generalist experience
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local employment regulations
  • Goal-driven, self-starter with exceptional written and oral communication skills and an ability to handle interpersonal matters tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to establish rapport with all levels of employees within the organization
  • Must have the ability to multitask with strong time/priority management skills
