Job Summary:
A Service Technician I is responsible for repairing a range of manufactured and distributed product and accurately completing all necessary paperwork. Reports to the National Service Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Label and repair all incoming returned product
- Report observations/facts and services rendered on all incoming returned product
- Tag and identify all nonconforming product
- Complete all necessary paperwork
- Alert manager of any discrepancies
- Interpret and follow work procedures
- Use efficient work processes to meet output requirements
- Demonstrate manual dexterity and exhibit a required degree of accuracy
- Promote workplace safety
- Able to read basic Bill of Materials
- Perform tests according to specifications
- Understand and interpret complicated wire diagrams & troubleshoot failures down to the board level
- Participate in all in-house power conditioner and UPM/UPS training
- Develop an expanded knowledge of all tools and equipment
- Maintain sufficient inventory of materials used
Minimum Qualifications:
Two-year Associate Degree in Electronics, or equivalent training and/or on the job experience
Desired Qualifications:
- General knowledge of manufacturing process
- Basic soldering skills
- Must be able to handle the lifting requirements of the position
- Familiarity with basic hand tools
- Work independently with minimum supervision
- Must be able to work overtime when warranted
- Some computer experience
- Basic AC/DC power and electrical safety

This position is located in Waukegan, Illinois, approximately midway between Chicago and Milwaukee.
