Position Overview:

As a member of the Wallingford Operations Leadership Team, is responsible for providing input and support to Company initiatives to improve overall plant operational performance.  This includes contributing to Company goals in the areas of safety, quality, service, and cost. Reporting to the Plant Manager, is accountable to deliver results through developing and executing a strategy to deliver improved equipment reliability and automated solutions to improve the safety and efficiency of manual manufacturing operations. A critical task will be prioritizing time and resources to yield the greatest benefit on performance.

 

AMETEK leaders are player coaches.  The successful candidate will be a visible, hands on leader who manages work and projects.  This position will have multiple direct reports (Maintenance Technicians) and work closely with and guide external contractors. The responsibilities within scope include, but are not limited to, developing a site capital expenditure plan, and leading a multi-shift maintenance team to maximize overall equipment effectiveness and to minimize unscheduled downtime.  The success of this role will be heavily weighted towards the reduction of unplanned maintenance outages and accelerated implementation of automated systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage EHS requirements for the Maintenance Department and continually improve plant safety performance
  • Institute a full PM program that includes corrective, preventive, predictive and condition based maintenance strategies
  • Institute a full PM schedule and system with monthly budget for both in house and contracted work orders
  • Maintain critical spares and develop inventory replenishment system
  • Work directly with Process Engineering and Operations to maintain and improve processing equipment to improve costs, efficiency, and product quality
  • Act as project manager for the install of new equipment
  • Collaborate with production employees to understand automation needs in the manufacturing process.  Provide solutions that increase operator efficiency while improving output.
  • Create and oversee the design and build of control systems; create process equipment control specifications for new and modified systems; validate, install, and commission new systems
  • Coach, lead, and counsel the Maintenance team to achieve maintenance objectives and to support individual development.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Maintenance activity reports, budgets, project management documents, etc
  • Develop and maintain documentation for new and existing systems, to include SOPs, training manuals, and instrumentation diagrams

Position Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
  • 3-5 years with engineering degree OR 5-10 years of experience.  Heavy industrial/manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of maintenance reliability programs and implementation
  • Strong experience in developing and implementing corrective, preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing automated solutions
  • Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects to tight deadlines
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining automated processes and equipment
  • Ability to provide occasional off-hours support as needed.

 

Compensation

Salary Minimum:  $120,000
Salary Maximum:  $150,000
Incentive:  No
