Job Description: 

AMETEK PDS is seeking a highly strategic East Coast (US) Regional Sales Manager with a proven track record of success to join our business unit.  This individual will join a global, multi-site business unit that designs and manufactures highly engineered aerospace electronic and mechanical systems for aerospace and commercial applications.  The sales organization consists of regional sales managers and representatives.  This position will report to the PDS Director of Sales and Marketing.  Candidates for this position will have the ability to work from home and must be willing to travel at least 50% of the time.


  • Develop and execute a short-term and long-term territory sales plan  
  • Develop win strategies for new business pursuits
  • Develop strategic customer accounts and cultivate new business opportunities
  • Proactively manage all aspects of the New Business pipeline from identifying new prospects to closing new business wins
  • Identify new products and adjacent market opportunities
  • Perform tactical functions: prepare multiyear quote proposals, manage sales/engineering/customer interface, establish pricing, perform negotiations, manage customers and perform marketing analysis
  • Manage relations with outside reps and intercompany AMETEK sales team
  • Communicate BU goals, objectives and feedback
  • Ensure that Sales Channel supports new product development goals & the growth objectives of the business
  • Establishes and maintains key customer relations and ties to new development programs
  • Support financial and territory reporting including forecasting, budgets, and quarterly reporting requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business and/or equivalent work experience required.  MBA a plus. 
  • 5+ years of sales or engineering experience within the aerospace industry required.
  • Self-motivated and driven with strong organization and proactive customer opportunity development skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of AC/DC Motors, Electrical/Mechanical Actuators, and Aircraft power and electrical systems is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience interfacing with Design Engineers
  • Strategic thinking, planning and implementation skills
  • Home Office based
  • Approximately 50% of the Regional Sales Manager’s time will be spent at customers, AMETEK locations and supporting sales meetings
