Job Description: 

Nu is a market-leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance mass spectrometers. Our highly specialised instrumentation includes; Multi-Collector ICP-MS (MC-ICP-MS), Time-of-Flight ICP-MS (TOF-ICP-MS), High Resolution ICP-MS (HR-ICP-MS), Glow Discharge Mass Spectrometry (GD-MS), Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS), Gas Analysis Mass SpectrometryThermal Ionisation Mass Spectrometry (TIMS).

 

To lead the sales activity of Nu Instruments in terms of Sales, Order Intake, and profitability, with emphasis on the Vitesse product line.

 

• To ensure the development of a long-term profitable business for Nu with the Product Line thus enabling Nu to achieve this Product Line the targeted figures of Order Intake, Revenues, Profit, and Growth.

• To contribute actively in the Product Line evolution (and its Long-Term Roadmap) to ensure it remains up to the market standard and meet its expectations including in term of technology, performance, applications and prices/costs.

• To define and manage the activity for Instrument Upgrades in close relation with the After Sales Service to ensure all business opportunities are followed.

• Actively participate in VOC feedback to the Product Managers as required.

 

Area and Scope of Responsibilities:

• Product Line: Nu Instruments

• Geographical area: North America

• Applications: All existing and future applications fields/markets in which the Product Line is aimed at serving

• Experience in academic sales as well as industrial sales.

• Knowledge of Mass spectrometry Desired.

 

Main detailed activities:

Product Line Strategic Leadership:

• Synthesize competition situation (direct, technological) in collaboration with the Scientific Marketing team and the evolution of our direct competitor positioning (exclusive agreements, partnerships)

• To pursue research and analysis on market data and competitor’s information in the field of Nu activities for the Product Line.

• Attend conferences and exhibitions to increase our awareness of application trends and customer awareness of Nu’s capabilities by presenting posters and participating in scientific seminars. Follow up on contacts obtained during conferences and exhibitions.

• To propose possible attendance and participation in exhibitions and conferences to the MARCOMM.

• To gather and explore customers’ requests to define, together with the Product Manager, the new applications for us to develop and further promote to customers.

• Evolution of offer perimeter, including Services.

• To contribute actively to the Product Line's long-term roadmap in close cooperation with the Scientific Marketing department to ensure the Product Line remains up to the market standard and meets its expectations, including in terms of technology, performance, applications, and prices/costs.

• To monitor the competition to anticipate any move that can affect Nu’s position in the markets served by the Product Line and bring valuable knowledge and information to the Sales Network and in the process of Product Roadmap.

• To lead and conduct the prospection effort in the assigned territory to identify, qualify, and pursue new customers for the Product Line.

• To review prospects’ specifications (application, design, standards, SW automation, specifications, etc…).

• To prepare or manage the preparation of all offers/proposals made to potential customers for the Product Line.

• To organize prospects and customer visits at Nu for live demos or negotiations.

• To promote and expand the Services activities in relation to the Product Line

• To ensure always for him/her an ad-hoc level of knowledge of and compliance with Ametek & Nu policies and quality processes, including regarding business ethics to enable him to manage the Sales effort efficiently.

• To manage all internal paperwork, approval procedures, and administration processes in relation to Bid / No Bid decision offer preparation (including technical and cost evaluation), submission for management approval, and offer issuance (both Technical and commercial.

• To review and validate the Monthly Forecast of orders for the Product Line • To ensure all forecasts/ prospect and lead information is kept updated in CRM.
