We're searching for a highly motivated Service Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to lead the charge in expanding our services offerings at AMETEK Programmable Power (PPD). The Service RSM will use an entrepreneurial mindset to find the perfect aftermarket solution for each customer they interact with, developing proposals and pricing structures that work to close opportunities and build AMETEK PPD’s service business, while also driving standard offering adoption with the support of our US and global sales channels across all products that best fit the needs of our customers.

 

Ideal candidate will be based in Southern California with travel 50% within U.S.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Proactive Aftermarket Service Growth: Develop and grow the proactive aftermarket service business, achieving sales incentive goals through a combination of run-rate sales growth and entrepreneurial large deal closure.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with AMETEK Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and sales reps to drive the development and growth of run-rate and large order service business.
  • Customer Development: Utilize warm and cold calls to develop customer accounts, driving business growth into key accounts.
  • Sales Material Creation: Collaborate with the marketing team and leadership to create compelling sales materials and campaigns that resonate with our target audience.
  • Funnel Management: Take ownership of the opportunity funnel, working directly with AMETEK RSMs, reps, and customers in the US and global territories to close service opportunities.
  • Custom Service Agreements: Develop and close custom service agreements for key customers, driving large incremental business growth.
  • Travel: Be willing to travel to sell the AMETEK service vision and drive opportunities to close.
  • Account Planning: Develop account plans to achieve quote objectives, ensuring a strategic approach to service sales.

  • Technical Acumen: Proficiency in explaining technical concepts related to our services to clients.
  • Strategic Planning: The ability to develop account plans, create large opportunity proposals, and contribute ideas for program development to drive new revenue opportunities.
  • CRM Diligence: Diligence in leveraging CRM’s such as Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce to manage funnel
  • Collaboration: The ability to work within a channel sales environment to develop accounts in partnership with our direct sales team (RSM’s) and indirect sales team (reps)
  • Prioritization: The ability to manage multiple customer requirements, quotes, and opportunities simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • 5 to 10 years of selling or sales experience in the proactive or professional services fields
  • Use of CRM systems
  • Ability to multitask
  • Self-starter requiring minimal supervision
  • Metrics and goal oriented to business unit and corporate objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize process improvement initiatives
  • Must be able to work independently, multitask and prioritize workload in order to meet demanding deadlines including flexible work hours
  • Demonstrated customer centric approach
  • Demonstrated ability to act with speed, agility and accountability to drive desirable outcomes
  • Proven ability to quickly establish credibility, trust, and support within all levels of organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, required
  • Ability to travel up to 50% for customer interactions

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science in electrical engineering, computer science, business administration, communications, or applicable field.
  • Equivalent work experience in inside or outside sales

Salary Minimum:  $100,000
Salary Maximum:  $150,000
