Vision Research is a Business Unit in the Materials Analysis Division of AMETEK, Inc. Vision Research manufactures industry leading high-speed digital cameras. Our cameras are primarily sold into industrial, academic, defense and government research facilities. We also have a smaller entertainment oriented camera business. Job Overview
You will take part in research projects that aim to revolutionize the way in which Phantom high-speed cameras capture, analyze, measure, and process digital images. This person would work in a small team of engineers to develop Python modules for Phantom high-speed cameras. These modules will consist of tools to be used for processing CINE files, namely in terms of scientific image analysis.
What type of person are we looking for? We are looking for a positive, energetic, and hardworking person who has a real passion for science and learning. Having a background in digital imaging, together with some coding experience is a plus. We generally aim to hire engineering- or physics- minded senior undergrads OR grad students, who have a history of demonstrated interest in scientific imaging, image analysis, and/or engineering processes.

Necessary Skills/Talents
- Undergraduate or Graduate level with Scientific or Engineering focus, preferably with a specialization in scientific imaging and/or optics.
- Demonstrates usage and clear interest in coding (i.e. Python) to solve engineering problems. Understands programming concepts and has a history of applying them.
- Dependable, driven, teachable person with good work ethic.
- Technical knowledge of digital imaging, camera technology, optical systems, oscilloscopes, & function generators is desirable.
- Capacity to be autonomous, think out of the box and be creative when facing difficult or unusual situations, but not hesitant to ask questions.
- US Citizenship preferred.
