Job Description: 

The Director, Global Marketing is responsible for setting and achieving the sales growth targets as well as developing the go-to-market strategy for AMETEK’s Haydon Kerk Pittman (HKP) business by leading the Marketing and Product Management teams.  This position will establish the strategic vision for HKP’s chosen market segments and drive to make the vision a reality.  In this role, the Director will work closely with various departments (engineering, customer service, sales, etc.), and will be a key element to the strategic planning process by providing valuable insights and aid in strategic and operational decision-making. This will be a hybrid schedule, with some work from home and working at one of the HKP locations in the US (Kent, OH, Waterbury, CT, Milford, NH, or Harleysville, PA).

 

Leadership & Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global marketing strategy to achieve business objectives and drive above-market growth.
  • Lead the development of 2-5 year strategic plans and growth strategies for targeted markets.
  • Identify and monitor industry trends, market adjacencies, and M&A opportunities.
  • Manage and develop a global team of product managers, marketing specialists, and an external marketing agency based in North America and Asia.

Customer & Market Focus:

  • Be the voice of the customer: gather and analyze customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Develop compelling business cases for identified opportunities, including market segmentation and product positioning.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Engineering to identify and prioritize new product opportunities.

Marketing & Sales Execution:

  • Develop and deploy value propositions, marketing campaigns, and digital marketing initiatives.
  • Create and implement growth strategies for assigned product families.
  • Lead the global Sales team to target market opportunities and support new product launches.
  • Analyze pricing and competitive pressures, and collaborate on winning pricing strategies.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Operations, Finance) to ensure successful product development and launch.
  • Facilitate training for global channels in the USA, Europe, and South-East Asia on assigned product families.
  • Collaborate on BU strategic plans and reports to senior management.

 

We are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field; engineering (EE, ME, IE) degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in the marketing/sales of technical industrial products; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills required
  • Demonstrated success and experience in the strategic leadership of marketing and business development
  • Culturally sensitive with the ability to inspire the trust of others, and the ability to work effectively in global cross-functional teams
  • Strong financial management skills with proven ability to develop short-term and long-term business plans that deliver acceptable ROI
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (30% of the time)
