Job Summary:

The DVP of Information Technology (IT) will have overall responsibility for the stable and efficient operation of the Division’s Business Systems environment. He/she will be a business partner with the Division General Manager and his/her staff and will anticipate and recommend opportunities where Information Technology can advance the capabilities of, and be utilized to provide a competitive advantage for, the Division. The DVP, IT will develop and execute a strategic plan for the Division’s systems within the context of the overall Division business strategy and the company’s IT strategic direction.

In addition to serving as the IT leader for the Division, the DVP, IT will also provide enterprise IT support at the AMETEK corporate level, working closely with the corporate team on initiatives affecting IT across all divisions. This includes providing participation in future acquisition due diligence, post-acquisition integration, Sarbanes Oxley audit support and Cyber security when appropriate.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of business systems and information technology in the Division.
  • Work with the business unit management teams to develop and execute strategy including identifying the appropriate use of IT to improve the capabilities and performance of the Division.
  • Ensure a stable and efficient business system and communications environment.
  • Lead the IT due diligence activities for acquisitions. Make significant contributions to work in the area of investigation of potential acquisitions and lead post acquisition integration execution and delivery.
  • Develop and maintain a high performing Business Systems and Information Technology Team.
  • Contribute to the development of corporate standards and Policies related to IT and Business Systems.
  • Provide thought leadership around the application of Sarbanes Oxley and Cyber Security compliance standards.
  • Ensure the Division is adhering to all corporate information security standards and policies.
  • Lead the deployment of Cyber Security initiatives in line with AMETEK policy within the Division.
  • Provide business analytics in support of the business growth strategies.
  • Indirectly supervise local and remote employees located throughout the US at various manufacturing plant locations.
  • Lead the development of the Divisional IT 3-5 year strategy by working with BU and Divisional leadership to translate business strategies and initiatives into IT strategic plans.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of proven, progressive IT leadership, including global experience in an engineering-centric, product development, and delivery organization. This includes a successful IT business leader who understands and leads technology’s application for driving real business value. This experience should also include a proven track record of exceptional IT build, deliver, and support experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline, ideally computer science or engineering, or related discipline with an IT focus.
  • Must have participated in and subsequently led several full life cycle ERP implementations in multi-site discrete manufacturing business.
  • Must have participated in and subsequently led several full-cycle CRM implementations using leading CRM platforms.
  • Ability to travel extensively and frequently through North America and Europe; 50% minimum.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Strong business and financial acumen. Experiencing working for a publicly-traded company continuously pressured to lower costs while improving performance.
  • Prior experience in a business operations role and/or a consulting practice highly desirable.
  • Understanding of, and skill in developing executable strategic plans.
  • Demonstrated skill and success in managing an organization including budgeting, hiring, developing, and positioning resources in support of the function.
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills.
  • Well-developed critical thinking and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience evaluating, conducting due diligence on, and integrating acquisitions is highly desirable. Experience in a Six Sigma / LEAN Manufacturing environment where these tools were applied to the “office” environment is preferred.
  • Ability to predict, recognize and manage cultural and technological changes within the organization and the corresponding transitions required. It is essential the applicant understand technology direction and trends and their strategic business impact.
  • Able to develop collaborative, productive working relationships across AMETEK beyond the Division.
