AMETEK Aerospace and Defense is seeking a resourceful and driven individual to join the team as an HR Manager for the Midwest Region. The ideal candidate for this role will be a hands-on leader capable of providing strategic and tactical support to deliver services and programs for the MRO North America Division. This role will partner with business leaders and will be responsible for providing functional support in areas of Human Resources Payroll, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Recruitment and Staffing, training and all other HR related areas. The candidate will be responsible for the Tulsa, OK and Wichita, KS facility and will require effective communication and partnership with the HR North America team.
Position Summary
- Leads the HR team in the Mid West region and contributes to wider MRO Divisional initiatives and projects
- Is the Key business partner for the Mid West business leader providing coaching and guidance to them and their leadership teams.
- Is able to utilise a range of tools and processes to help achieve high levels of employee engagement and a culture that is aligned to business needs.
- Can influence and support the development of business leaders to enable them to role model the leadership traits required to achieve a high-performance culture.
- Leads the *Talent & Succession planning actions for the region helping to ensure talent is identified and developed to meet future resourcing needs.
- Acts and serves as the day-to-day resource for the Midwest employee population to deliver AMETEK’s Policies, Procedures and Programs.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll for the Midwest employees and serves as back up to other MRO N.A. business units as needed.
- Responsible for staffing and recruitment of best-in-class talent while providing guidance to managers on best organizational practices to effectively meet the demands of the business.
- Creates and maintains job descriptions for the Midwest locations.
- Updates organizational charts each month.
- Responsible for processing background, drug test and the ongoing administration of the Drug and Alcohol program.
- Creates and maintains employee files in accordance with applicable federal and state laws.
- Provides guidance to managers on employee communication, conflict resolution and other employee relations issues and concerns.
- Conducts new hire onboarding orientation to help achieve high levels of engagement and retention.
- Develops an internal communication strategy to help ensure colleagues are informed and engaged and persuades and influences managers to support and deliver the plan.
- Responsible for fostering a positive working environment and serve as ambassador in promoting the company’s recognition program to increase employee motivation and engagement.
- Administers other programs such as Salary Planning, Performance Management, Annual Benefits Open Enrollment and other programs in alignment with AMETEK’s corporate strategies.
- Manages Family Medical Leave requests in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
- Provides guidance on HR training initiatives in alignment with the business needs and other MRO North America training programs.
- Proactively works to eliminate Employee Relations and workers compensation concerns wherever possible. Manages these effectively when it is necessary, ensuring feedback to the business to avoid such cases arising again.
- Works collaboratively with business unit leaders, creates reports and serves as business partner in providing HR data as needed.
- Assists business with the coordination of employee meetings, luncheons and other activities.
- Administers and manages other programs such as annual hearing and respiratory exams, biometrics screenings, and other compliance matters that arise.
- Effectively communicates and engages with HR Director and NA HR Team on all matters relating to the Midwest.
- Contributes and participates in HR projects as needed
Qualification Summary
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management.
- A minimum of 7 years of HR relevant experience.
- PHR or SPHR is a plus.
- Manufacturing experience is required, MRO experience is a plus.
- Experience with federal, state and regulatory agencies affecting U.S. population.
- Min 1 to 2 years of previous payroll experience is preferred.
- Manufacturing or MRO industry experience is a plus.
- Outstanding time management, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, leadership and interpersonal skills well developed problem-solving skills; solid organizational skills; and the demonstrated ability to be self-directed.
- Requires a hands-on individual with the ability to see the big picture.
- Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Computer skills to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Confident and effective in dealing with different levels of management up to executive leaders.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Work will be conducted mostly indoors in a “shop” type environment.
- Exposure to heat or cold will mostly be limited to when walking from one building to another or if bay doors have been opened to allow for shipping and receiving activities.
- The use of PPE such as safety glasses and safety toed shoes are required in designated working areas.
