Position Overview:

 

This role requires an experienced lean manufacturing professional who will lead, manage, and drive the Continuous Improvement efforts for the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Division. Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain and Continuous Improvement, with a dotted line to the Vice President and General Manager of the MRO Division, this is a matrixed management position responsible for developing and training employees and deploying lean manufacturing division-wide. This individual must possess a willingness and desire to work directly with his/her peers and their direct reports in the business units to define and set a strategy for CIP efforts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

• Train MRO Divisional A&D staff in understanding and deployment of TPS, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement practices (Coach, Train, Facilitate, Participate in OpEx Events/Activities)

• Establish a strategy for CIP activities within A&D MRO Division that includes a robust and continuous improvement quality and regulatory system.

• Establishing cost out targets, budgets, objectives, event timetables, policies, capital requirements, material and labor requirements and other key metrics to track and evaluate current and new projects.

• Responsible for participation in the development and implementation of manufacturing strategy and readiness to support current and future business objectives

• Preparation for senior management approval of strategic plans in support of long-range/short range objectives, organization, establish budgets and strategies, event timetables, policies, capital requirements, material, and labor requirements.

 

Education:

 

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering (Mechanical/Manufacturing) discipline.

• Master or Six Sigma Blackbelt

 

Preferred Experience:

 

• Candidates must come from a company that embraces and successfully utilizes TPS, Lean, Kaizen and Six Sigma strategies. Aerospace experience a plus. Aerospace MRO experience a significant plus.

• At least 10-15 years of experience in a similar role with a history of responsible career progression in an Industrial, Commercial and/or Military Aviation MRO industry.

• Experience should include manufacturing management experience in low or medium volume / high mix production environments. Military or aerospace industries MRO repair and overhaul a plus.

• Demonstrated history of successful change implementation and implementing of operational excellence improvements such as lean manufacturing, demand flow, six sigma, tooling equivalency and compressive regulatory and quality improvement programs.

• Strong experience in driving working capital improvement
