Job Description: 

Zygo Corporation is looking for an experienced and result-orientated Sales Manager – Japan to drive our growth across multiple markets. The position is ideally located at Ametek KK office, Tokyo. This individual is responsible for sales growth in Japan and the position reports to the Country Manager - Japan. As the leader of the sales team, the Sales Manager – Japan will develop growth plans and budgets, provide sales forecasts for operational and financial planning. Some specific tasks are as follows:

  • Working with the Country Manager develop a strategic plan to deliver strong growth across all regions and products that delivers consistent profitable growth.

  • Work closely with the Metrology, PPS and Optical Systems Divisions to develop sales strategies/ tactics that deliver growth for all product lines

  • Effectively manage the direct sales team to ensure Zygo’s growth targets are met

  • Manage pricing and discounting to balance growth and achieve profitable growth.

  • Champion Key Account relationships within key markets including Electronics, Optics, Aero, Defense and Automotive markets.

  • Have a strong ability to build Internal and External relationships within the Zygo organization.

  • Regularly inform the management about all important commercial and technical issues

  • Forward information on the competition (products, prices) and customer requirements to the Zygo product marketing department

  • Cooperate with order processing and invoice collection to guarantee smooth handling of all customer-relevant logistics.

  • Manage and coordinate work with Application/ Service teams to ensure that not only World Class Customer Service level delivered coupled with strong revenue growth.

  • Report and provide formal feedback to Zygo management on performance within the region.

  • Develop and coach best practices methods with the sales team to develop high goal achievements, including usage of Salesforce and associated tools.



Experience (5-10 yrs) in sales/marketing senior role

International company sales experience an advantage.

Experience in developing and implementing a promotion/marketing plan.

Knowledge and experience within the Electronics, Semiconductor, Optics, Aero, Defense, and automotive industry

Technical Experience

Background within a technical specialty preferred Engineering Qualification (bachelor’s degree)

Metrology experience an advantage.


Be comfortable with travelling - up to 30%
