Scope of Role:

The Senior HR Manager is accountable for the development and delivery of programs and support that will improve the operating performance of the Airtechnology Business Unit. The successful candidate must be a strong, action-oriented leader who can partner with the leadership team to accelerate strategy implementation, build leadership talent to fuel future growth, and enhance organisational performance. Candidates must have strong collaboration skills, strategic thinking, tough-mindedness, a sharp eye for talent, team building skills, unquestioned integrity, and the ability to effectively handle senior level relationships and sensitive HR issues.  

 

Main Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Airtechnology Business Unit HR Plan, supporting the organisational strategy and annual operating plans; creating meaningful and relevant HR initiatives, that are aligned to support the BU’s success
  • Continue the leadership of the talent acquisition structure that can attract highly capable new colleagues and support the BU’s staffing requirements consistently across all markets
  • Serve as a senior advisor, coach, and trusted resource to the DVP Business Unit Manager and provide effective leadership, mentoring and coaching to the Senior Leadership and HR team and hold HR legal responsibility for the UK legal compliance
  • Responsible for resolving HR issues, supporting organisational changes and improving the effectiveness in areas such as organisational structure, work processes, leadership development, succession management, performance management, human resource policy, talent retention strategies and leadership compensation
  • Plan and manage the delivery of all HR support to employees to include: recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits
  • Co-ordinate the HR KPIs, utilising metrics and results to understand trends and identify how to improve
  • Develops strategic direction for company on all employee engagement practices
  • Ensure clear communication of approved policies and procedures to employees and management
  • Lead HR due diligence and integration activities for acquisitions targeted by the Company
  • Collaborate with Division and Corporate HR on AMETEK HR processes and policies to be deployed
  • Produce management information as required by the business and corporate office

 

 

Professional Knowledge & Experience:

  1. Previous experience in a similar role, with a true generalist employee relations background
  2. Proven understanding and practical knowledge of UK employment law and HR practices – i.e., recruitment/staffing, employee relations, compensation and benefits, leadership and organisational development, and training and development
  3. Experience of working within a manufacturing environment with the ability to work with all levels of managers, administrators, engineers and shop floor employees
  4. Proven track record of use of Microsoft Office skills
  5. Strong administration skills with attention to detail and accuracy both with the written word and with numeracy.
  6. An ability to influence senior executives, establish and maintain partnerships, and provide thought leadership, serving as a trusted business partner
  7. Leadership of a HR team across multiple sites
  8. Lead staffing efforts to ensure that the recruiting, assessment, and selection of talent are meeting business objectives and requirements in a timely manner
  9. A track record of producing HR metrics and implementing actions where required
  10. Experience of developing and leading the implementation of projects in a fast paced, challenging environment with multiple, competing priorities
  11. Must possess strong communication/presentation skills; ability to confidently communicate good/bad news in a timely manner in addition to suggested solutions
  12. Above all, must be highly ethical with unquestionable integrity

 

Education & Qualifications:

  1. CIPD Qualified
  2. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
