Job Description: 

Scope of Role: To carry out any of the duties listed below as and when required, consistently achieving the required high quality standards, together with any other reasonable duties requested by your supervisor to meet operational needs. Training is provided and the post holder will only be expected to carry out these duties once appropriate training has been completed.


Main Duties/Responsibilities

  • The role requires the use and set up of the following machines in the production of product:

  • Must be able to work to fine tolerances and understand engineering drawings.

  • Experience on Jones and Shipman Machines (Advantageous).

  • Cylindrical grinding.

  • Surface grinding.

  • Bore grinding.

  • Milling.

  • Linishing.

  • Fettling.

  • Lathe (Advantageous).

  • General bench fitting.

  • Ultrasonic cleaning.

  • Communicate freely on any problems or quality issues that you encounter during the performance of your duties.

  • You will be required to pass on knowledge gained, and assist in the training of others within the Company.

  • To undertake training in Balancing, and be able to make your own fixtures to aid work practices.


Other Responsibilities/Non-essential Functions

  • Wear personal protective equipment, which will be provided, you will be required to use it.

  • Participate in any improvement activity that affects the performance of your job.

  • You must be willing to learn new techniques and skills, as processes and equipment are developed and improved.

  • Any other reasonable tasks within the company that may be required from time to time.

  • Undertake training that is identified as a requirement of the role as identified by the role Manager.

  • Undertake all other reasonable requests that are made by the role manager/acting manager or Directors.

  • At times of reduced department staff attendance there will be a need to be flexible and provide support outside of the normal tasks of the job to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • On occasion you maybe required to take on ad hoc duties which includes, but is not limited to training colleagues where required in line with local skills matrix, department associated tasks and brief secondment to other departments.
