Job Description: 

SUMMARY

We are looking for a Staff Accountant at our Subotica, Serbia facility.  In this role you will be responsible for general accounting, as well as, operational accounting including accounts payable, payroll and other analysis and reporting.  The successful candidate excels while working in a fast-paced environment.  The individual should be self-driven and able to work independently as well as working in a small team environment.    

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Match invoice with purchase order and receiver and enter voucher information into the Accounts Payable (AP) modules for payment.
  • Respond to AP queries and reconcile supplier statements
  • Review expenditures to ensure accuracy and compliance with the Company’s Expenditure policy (DLA).
  • Generate supplier payment output files and load to the banking system for payment.
  • Complete month-end accruals and prepayment journals as required.
  • Prepare and submit wire payments into the banking system. Distribute payments to the GL once completed.
  • Set up and maintain vendor remit-to information via the AMETEK banking callback database.
  • Coordinate and submit monthly payroll files to banking system. Create and post entries related to payroll in the GL.
  • Complete month-end payroll and vacation accrual entries.
  • Complete quarterly SOX database tasks (updating narratives, recons, quarterly Controls).
  • Handle accounting for fixed assets, including related reports, reconciliations and HFM webforms.
  • Raise sales invoices and send to customers via email or customer portals, check status of sales invoices and expected cash receipts.
  • Monitor and update time and attendance system.
  • Other various ad-hoc accounting related responsibilities as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
  • Three to five years’ of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Prior accounts payable experience required.
  • Strong excel skills and prior ERP experience.
  • Very detailed oriented with a strong inclination to follow up and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Excellent communication skills (English) both written and verbal as this position interacts with management, employees and third parties on a regular basis.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently once training has completed.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet established deadlines.
