Land Instruments in Asia Pacific

 

Around a quarter of the Land revenue is generated (circa $8 - 9Million) in the Asia Pacific Region (excluding India) and this territory is identified as a strong growth area with double digit CAGR expected, particularly focussed on developing markets in Southeast Asia and China. China makes up around half the sales in the region with the remainder spread fairly equally between Japan and the rest of Asia. Customers typically fall into one of two groups, either end-user manufacturers or EPC companies and the routes to market are divided between direct sales and channel partners. The emissions monitoring product line is currently sold in partnership with a sister company within the Ametek group (Ametek PIBU) as part of their product offering.

Land employees are in Japan, China and Singapore and service facilities are situated in Osaka, Beijing and Shanghai, the structure of the LAND business in Asia.

 

The position that we are looking for is as follows:

 

 

Position description:

  • Research and execute sales and customer service to ensure attainment of the company’s targets within the region for sales and profitability.
  • Work closely with local Sales Manager & Application Engineer in business development and marketing function to promote new products and exploit opportunities within new markets (Petrochemical and Power).
  • Direct management of marketing activities and sales within China, including funnel management with Salesforce.
  • Provide accurate, timely reporting to China Sales Manager to include complete forecast by country and customer. As well as marketing needs for each industry.
  • Regularly analyse and review marketing strategy and business plan to best address opportunities with available resources.
  • Spend majority of time in the field visiting customers, and regional sales channels to grow pipeline and to develop strategic relationships.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Feedback to China Sales Manager on customer information, industry trends and competitor/market intelligence.
  • Take responsibility for regional P&L - managing pricing, margins and costs to maximise sales and profitability and support accounts department in ensuring timely cash collection.
  • Be familiar and to maximise performance and to ensure compliance with all local laws and regulations.

Experience / Personal Requirements:

 

  • A degree in a technical discipline. Ideally with a postgraduate business qualification.
  • At least 5 – 10 years of relevant experience with a minimum of 5 years demonstrated success in sales management - direct sales and channel partners.
  • A skilled negotiator with strong communication and presentation skills both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable in matrix organisation environment and demonstrates capacity to leverage wider business support structure and market access.
  • Experience of selling instrumentation or similar technical products to end users and EPC companies.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-tasking and meet deadlines.
  • Highly developed analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills with ability to translate high level strategy into measurable action plan.
  • Ambitious and can demonstrate potential to progress their career within company.
  • Competent in preparing reports, undertaking presentations, managing time and contributing to meetings.
  • English and Mandarin language skills.
  • Working knowledge of infrared temperature measurement would be advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of emissions and environmental monitoring would be advantageous.
  • Experience working in Power, Petrochemical or other industrial markets would be advantageous.
