Job Summary

 

The Senior Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of shipping routes and delivery, specifically regarding customer satisfaction. As a logistic coordinator, customer satisfaction is a priority as this is how business remains successful. Additionally, a logistic coordinator is well-versed in supply management principles and practices. Responding immediately to customer questions and complaints and notifying them of any delays in the delivery schedule is essential to this position. The logistic coordinator will also work with internal production leaders identifying potential shipments.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Maintains strong relationships with assigned customers by rating, accepting, and executing their business plan.
  • Responding to customer inquiries and referring clients to the proper channels
  • Planning and tracking loads/shipment activities and maintaining accurate records
  • Effectively achieve customer satisfaction by identifying the appropriate resources to accomplish the transportation request both on pickup and delivery.
  • Consult with managerial personnel to meet operational goals
  • Coordinating transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments
  • Assess and resolve issues relating to transportation, customer problems, import and export, and logistics systems.
  • Prepare BOLs, commercial invoices, and process freight claims.
  • Making special or same-day shipping arrangements as necessary
  • Utilize local courier ship manager terminals such as UPS, FedEx, and DHL by making sure shipping methods comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Stay current on international export requirements such as new commodity codes and customs regulations to ensure compliance to legal regulations.
  • Developing processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized
  • Maintains and orders appropriate shipping supplies necessary to maintain shipping readiness.
  • Conduct inventory of Finished Goods monthly.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work area.
  • Other duties/tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • 5 years of domestic and 1 year of international shipping experience.
  • Experience with letter of credit, denied entity checks, generating international documentation.
  • Ability to operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and lift devices.
  • Good computer skills, Microsoft Office365, Microsoft Teams, and strong math skills.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and be able to work overtime as required
  • Ability to take verbal/written instruction and execute with confidence
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and coordination abilities
  • Demonstrates strong leadership qualities and manages time effectively
  • Exhibits excellent organizational and strategic planning abilities
  • Analyze the financial impact of logistical processes and proposed changes to determine maximum efficiency in terms of routing, transportation modes, and resources while continuing to meet customer requirements

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift Certification.

 

Education Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED is required. 

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse environment.

 

Hourly rate: $25-30 per hour

Salary Minimum:  $50,000
