Job Summary

The Lead Master Technician will test a variety of assemblies and sub-assemblies, testing and troubleshooting complex system using various test measurement equipments and automated test systems. Perform basic to complex level troubleshooting on digital and analog circuitry to component level. Read schematics and engineering drawing. Primary responsibility is to troubleshoot defective assets to component level. This role is 20% lead role and 80% high level testing/troubleshooting.


Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Leads and distribute works for the team.
  • Leads 6S activities.  
  • Provide input to annual Performance Appraisal in his/her group.
  • Audits the quality and productivity for feedback and team awareness.
  • Ensures the set-up, testing, calibrating, and troubleshooting of various system assemblies is functioning as required.
  • Uses manual/automated test system to record test results using ATP (Acceptance Test Procedures).
  • Performs basic to very complex level troubleshooting to isolate and determine the root cause on digital and analog circuitry.
  • Perform basic fixtures/machine maintenance and daily housekeeping.
  • Observes all safety rules and policies.
  • Supports engineering with testing and troubleshooting new designs.
  • Assist Junior Technicians with test and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of AMETEK workmanship standards.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • Minimum 10 years in related field, preferably electronics manufacturing environment.
  • In depth understanding of digital and analog circuit theory.
  • Requires a solid background in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of electromechanical equipment to the component level.
  • Experience working with standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMM, DVP, Distortion Analyzer, Function Generators, RMS meters, high power conversion equipment, etc. is a must. 
  • Must be able to identify both surface mount and through-hole components, including component values/color-coding.
  • Requires use of mechanical hand tools on a regular basis.
  • Must perform moderately complex math and be able to read, understand, and adhere to technical documents and procedures. 
  • Proficient communication in English – speak, read, write.  
  • Available to work over-time. 


Education Requirements

• Electronic Technician Certificate and/or AS Degree in Electronic Engineering is preferred
