Job Title: Senior Staff Accountant

Position Summary:
The position of Senior Staff Accountant, which is located in Rochester, New York, will be responsible for general and cost accounting, financial closing and reporting, and other various accounting functions. The position will work with the organization at all levels to gather information, produce various reports and ensure compliance with all corporate financial reporting requirements. This position is targeted for development within our organization and the ideal candidate will keep climbing the financial ladder within the finance department.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly and quarterly close procedures including journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analysis
- Produce daily reports on sales and orders, inventory receipts, and sales commission
- Maintain the fixed assets system; including depreciation entries, capitalization of assets, and CIP reconciliation to the GL. Lead the annual fixed assets audit.
- Complete monthly supplemental schedules and financial statement review
- Assist with quarterly SOX reporting
- Monthly audit of sales orders
- Variable pay calculation and submission
- Analyze and post monthly payroll entries and accruals
- Assist in coordination of semi-annual physical inventory counts
- Maintain the sales order backlog and perform a monthly backlog review
- Assist with reviewing customer's credit limits and account balances
- Assists with providing documentation for and liaising with internal/external auditors
- Ensure that effective compliance with GAAP, SOX, ASC 606 and applicable federal,
state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting - Actively participate in special projects, as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- BS in Accounting
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, with cost accounting experience
- Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups
Preferred Requirements:
- Oracle experience is a plus
- Solid understanding of GAAP, SOX, and ASC 606 requirements
- Outstanding analytical skills
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)

- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization
