Job Description: 


  • The Production Material Planner is responsible for properly planning and scheduling all sales orders based on material availability, customer order requirement and manufacturing lead times. Monitor all orders to assure timely completion to promise date and schedule date. Escalate and resolve issues that may prevent the timely delivery of orders. Provide feedback to order entry/customer service team regarding expedites, late orders and quotes.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Schedule all final assembly orders based on availability of the raw parts and subassemblies. Provide feedback to order entry/customer service team regarding expedites, late orders and quotes.
  • Monitor all orders to assure timely completion to promise date/ schedule date and escalate/resolve issues that may prevent the timely delivery of orders.
  • Communicate with purchasing to monitor and expedite parts.
  • Develop and implement the production schedule for the manufacturing work cell taking into consideration available capacity, material availability, customer order requirements, best production order sequence.
  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of parts, sub-assemblies, and material to work cells to ensure production schedule and customer commitments are met.
  • Administer timely disposition of material and implementation of changes according to engineering change orders and end-of-life plans, minimizing exposure to excess and obsolete material.
  • Execute MRP messages (cancel, schedule in/out) to keep the work orders aligned with demand to maintain Inventory to optimal levels.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • BA Degree or equivalent
  • Degree in business, logistics, inventory management or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing, production control/planning
  • Requires understanding of material requirement planning tools (MRP)
  • Requires advanced spreadsheet capabilities (excel), including mathematical formulas and functions, and data reporting/charting, with proficient to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office applications required. 
  • Excellent customer service, organization, problem solving, leadership, and communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.
