Position Summary:


The position of Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for general and cost accounting, financial closing and reporting, and other various accounting functions. The position will work with the organization at all levels to gather information, produce various reports and ensure compliance with all corporate financial reporting requirements. This position is targeted for development within our organization and the ideal candidate will keep climbing the financial ladder within the finance department.


Essential Functions/Responsibilities:


    • Assist with monthly and quarterly close procedures including journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analysis
    • Run and analyze monthly WIP and LIFO reports
    • Maintain all inventory GL accounts and prepare monthly reports with accuracy
    • Perform various Accounts Receivable functions such as A/R GL account balancing, invoicing, and assisting with collections as needed
    • Complete monthly supplemental schedules
    • Assist with quarterly SOX reporting
    • Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies and make updates as needed
    • Monthly audit of sales orders
    • Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close
    • Assist in coordination of semi-annual physical inventory counts
    • Assists with providing documentation for and liaising with internal/external auditors
    • Ensure that effective compliance with GAAP, SOX, ASC 606 and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
    • Actively participate in special projects, as assigned


Minimum Requirements:


  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • 3 years of related experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, with cost accounting experience
  • Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups


Preferred Requirements:


  • Oracle experience is a plus
  • Solid understanding of GAAP, SOX, and ASC 606 requirements
  • Outstanding analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Proven problem-solving capability
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines
