Our metrology business leverages ZYGO’s expertise in optical engineering, software design, visualization, high performance computing to deliver a diverse set of applications for consumer products, semiconductor manufacturing, precision machining and optical manufacturing.
You will:
- Design and develop optical test methods for custom advanced optical components, subassemblies, and assemblies.
- Drive excellence and continuous improvement in extreme precision optical components metrology methods. Identify key parameters affecting accuracy and implement mitigation and optimization plans to ensure highest performance of tool.
- Develop and define optics testing procedures and analysis and convert to automated/reproducible process for implementation in optics production. Hands-on and direct validation of methods.
- Directly contribute to metrology test plans, error budgets, documentation, and training
- Ultimately responsible for accuracy of all data generated by metrology personnel and equipment
- Support Program and Business Development teams in evaluating manufacturability and testability of new products
- Work with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering peers to identify, plan and implement process improvements using Statistical Process Controls – Standardize/Document, Measure, Compare, Correct.
- Review product requirements with Project Engineering and Operations to ensure compatibility of testing methods.
Excellent Fit:
- B.S., M.S. or PhD in Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related fields
- Intermediate to advanced programming ability using Python (edit existing analysis scripts and able to develop new ones as needed)
- Working ability to define and analyze optical components and systems using ZEMAX and/or CODE-V is desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of directly related experience with optical metrology at the nm level on a variety of instruments (alignment telescope, microscope, interferometers, surface roughness instruments)
- Strong technical Metrology knowledge, design engineering or development experience
- Demonstrate a high level of ethical behavior in exercising judgment and discretion in matters of significance
- Experience in manufacturing industry
