Job Title: SFM - Master Scheduler

POSITION SUMMARY
The master scheduler is responsible for establishing, reviewing and maintaining the master production schedule in alignment with the Sales, Inventory, and Operations (SIOP) consensus plan. Establishing the master schedule will involve working in conjunction with the operations planning team, supply chain buyer/planners, sales & customer service team, and others to coordinate manufacturing plans that achieve the company objectives relative to customer service, efficient resource/capacity utilization and inventory investment. The master scheduler will be responsible for analyzing scenarios that balance demand and supply while optimizing inventory and minimizing the impact of demand volatility.
RESPONSABILITIES
Translate the monthly SIOP consensus plan by product family into a detailed weekly master production schedule (MPS) with a 3 month “weekly bucket” firm period plan and forecast plan extending to 12-18 months total into the ERP for weekly MRP generation
Incorporate all demand and backlog into SIOP supply planning process to ensure capacity and resources are available to meet demand requirements.
Support the SIOP process meetings to review service levels, performance against schedule, inventory strategy, supply plan to meet demand, and resource implications. Update Master Production Plan as necessary.
Review monthly SIOP consensus plan as needed with customer service and suggest modifications consistent with measured forecast error or historical demand analytical data.
Utilize the production capacity, taking into consideration the sales forecast, historical sales, and new business opportunities. Analyze and identify risks associated with the options built into the Master Production Plan, including manufacturing lead times.
Perform supply demand analysis each quarter, highlighting areas of concern for the next 12 to 18 months.
Work with SIOP and planning teams on developing inventory targets and manage production to achieve targeted inventory levels.
Maintain finished goods “available-to-promise” inventory levels to ensure high service levels and meet customer contractual agreements.
Support customer service with exception request analysis and expediting resolution.
Create, measure and publish daily/weekly/monthly MPS schedule adherence and actual output versus the Master Production Plan.
Identify gaps and drive solutions through metric performance report outs.
Monthly data analysis and reporting of KPIs metrics such as: delivery performance, backlog, and inventory turns.
Identification and resolution of Constraints - Capacity, Resource & Material.
Conducts a demonstrated lead-time analysis and measures gap to published lead times. Drives corrective action plan and reviews and updates published lead-times.
Drives continuous process improvement, strives to improve efficiency, likely to challenge processes where favorable alternatives may be available
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
BS/BA degree in business or engineering discipline
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in analyzing data relating to product forecasting, master scheduling, or shipment forecasting.
APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) required or hiring commitment to obtain in first 18 months of employment.
Ability to effectively make complex decisions with limited time and information and can determine decision making criteria based on priorities.
Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, lean manufacturing processes and efficiency measurements
Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes.
Experience using MRP / ERP systems, especially Advance Planning Systems
Communicates demand information across organization so that everyone is aware of volume and metrics.
Exceptional interpersonal/written communication and presentation skills; can effectively interact with all levels of management
