Summary of the position

This role will support and configure the network infrastructure, physical and virtualized server environment, as well as automate various tasks will also use their knowledge of Virtualization, and physical infrastructure services and their integration within the virtual infrastructure. Responsible for ensuring the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network devices, be able to simultaneously act as the face of IT and provide world-class customer service to our end users.

 

Job Responsabilities

Experience with back-up systems for Virtual and physical infrastructure
Automates routine maintenance tasks as appropriate and ensures proper backup procedures are in place and in use.
Understanding of how to ensure business continuity and implement disaster recovery.
Strong and established networking background.
Established experience in administration, and configuration of virtual servers
Proven experience with physical deployment of network and power infrastructure.
Maintain departmental goals of 99.99% uptime for all services through IT.
Proactively monitor AV and conferencing equipment to ensure availability.
Creatively problem-solve issues as they arise.
Troubleshoot everything from networking issues to workstation issues.
Create and maintain support documentation for internal and external consumption.
Use broad familiarity of IT Security best practices to secure company IP.
Partner with multiple teams, including those external to IT to achieve mission success.
Assist with management of virtual servers and workstations.
Escalate security, hardware, software, and other concerns to appropriate stakeholders.
Responsible for design, planning and implementation of IT solutions as part of the Infrastructure Team; ranging from Linux, Mac, and Microsoft related deployments to VMWare/Virtualization infrastructure & other 3rd party solutions.
Provide daily Server, Storage, Virtualization and IT infrastructure administration and support, including system stability, integrity, troubleshooting, and managing user and active directory administration.
Maintain servers including software and hardware troubleshooting, system repair, and preventive maintenance.
Work as part of our server-infrastructure team ensuring 24/7 operations of our primary Server sites and all systems within.
Act as Team Lead and direct the group for implementations assigned by management.
Managing competing resources and priorities.
Play a role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
As part of IT key team members and the IT continuous improvement process, you will drive improvements in delivery methodologies and processes based on after-action assessments.
Ability to rack IT infrastructure, patch network/fiber cabling, and work with low voltage vendors.
Collaborate and partner with multiple teams to facilitate successful completion of projects.
Act as a SME in multiple areas where they will lead, mentor, and train colleagues.
Proactively work to solve challenges, and assist in meeting departmental. 

 

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in related field
5+ years related Systems Engineering experience working directly for a corporation/entity.
Cisco certification(s) CCNA, or equivalent experience
Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) preferred.
VMware system Administrator
Strong experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and network services
Server & Storage infrastructure and operating systems
Automation and distribution tools to simplify consistent deployments.
Creating and supporting highly available solutions (99.99%)
Knowledge of IT security best practices
Experience with AWS, and other cloud platforms
