Job Title: GSO Sourcing Director

Summary of Position
GSO Sourcing Director will work with all AMETEK businesses to identify suitable suppliers, and help them source products and services in Mexico. Be the key AMETEK ‘go-to’ person in the region for supplier knowledge, from an Engineering, Quality and Commercial perspective.
Responsabilities
Support AMETEK companies with finding suppliers in Mexico. ‘Matchmaking’ of suppliers to AMETEK business requirements based on engineering, quality, commercial and operational requirements.
Review all inquiry packages from AMETEK companies for completeness, and ensure the best possible suppliers are involved for each inquiry.
Follow up on all inquiry and transfer projects until realization of saving including benchmark of competitiveness and hit rate of inquiry vs actual order.
Research and investigation of market strengths in Mexico, including supplier capabilities and capacity for AMETEK needs and business.
Maintain database of capabilities and suitability.
Maintain strong awareness of AMETEK businesses in North America, pro-actively working with them on new opportunities. Education of AMETEK businesses of supplier capabilities.
Facilitating AMETEK business site visits in Mexico where required.
Support site audits, NPI assessments (under AMETEK business guidance), sign off, etc
Select, develop and maintain right supplier portfolio for AMETEK
Maintain and develop a related Supplier database to support the Global initiatives and AMETEK expansion in Mexico.
Focus and consolidate suppliers to develop a base with a reasonable number of suppliers ensuring high leverage effects for AMETEK
Travel 50%+ within Mexico to suppliers and AMETEK businesses
Requierements & Skills
10 years in Purchasing/Supply Chain/Quality or Engineering role (Essential)
5 years experience in a Management and/or Corporate role (Strongly Preferred)
Direct experience in a purchasing/sourcing role - buyer, planner, sourcing/supplier quality engineer (Strongly Preferred)
Experience in managing teams, directly and indirectly (Preferred)
Excellent negotiation skills and business acumen (Preferred)
Experience working in a multinational, matrix management environment (Strongly Preferred)
English language (Essential)• Ability to travel easily throughout Mexico and USA.
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a business or engineering discipline
