Job Description: 

The  Commodity Manager will collaborate with AMETEK businesses to aggregate and leverage AMETEK electronic spend.   You will develop, organize, communicate, influence, and lead corporate wide strategies for the assigned electronic commodity categories.  The primary commodity category focuses will be electronics manufacturing service (EMS) suppliers.  This role requires global team collaboration and utilization support of Silicon Expert and several other electronic BOM and spend data systems, working closely with the global support team primarily located in India.  This role will command market intelligence and strategic market changes for their assigned commodity categories, communicating, collaborating, and aligning with AMETEK businesses. 



Total Cost and Relationship owner for electronics manufacturing services (EMS) corporate strategy and suppliers.  Leverage AMETEK’s global scale to optimize EMS.

Develop/maintain Executive level relationships with suppliers, negotiate comprehensive supply Agreements, drive performance via regular supplier / Ametek business reviews and consistently measure supplier scorecard performance.

Define and implement the process to evaluate new suppliers and managing risk.

Supplier Relationship Management: Establish a monthly calendar of SRM meetings with Ametek/Supplier executive leadership. Publish and drive actions on both sides to further develop the relationships.

Quarterly Business Reviews: Establish plan, including scorecard management, and implement quarterly in-person leadership reviews.

Facilitate alignment of technology and product roadmaps between suppliers and Ametek Businesses

Drive RFQ and negotiations with suppliers, coordinating activities across the Ametek Divisions/Business Unites, standardizing work and utilizing Ametek India resources to manage/analyze cost BOM data.

Monitor the Electronics market conditions guiding AMETEK’s strategies to optimize performance to the changing market conditions ensuring continuity of supply and competitive advantages are maximized.   

Aggregate and leverage AMETEK Electronic Spend collaborating with AMETEK Divisional and Business resources to optimize value on costs, lead-times, payment term extensions, quality, and superior service on a global basis.

Maintain leading-edge, electronic market knowledge expertise and supply capabilities & capacity.  Cultivate and develop long-term working relationships with key supplier’s senior management and account representation to maximize AMETEK performance.  

Ensure all BOM’s and associated annual volumes are updated in the system and process and procedures are in place to administer cost changes throughout the organization working collaboratively with AMETEK India.



Bachelor’s degree at minimum

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience managing suppliers in the electronics industry (Component OEMs, Distribution, and/or EMS).

Fluent in English

Excellent negotiation skills and supplier management
