Job Description: 

We are looking for a Logistics and Traffic Manager who is responsible for the total worldwide delivery process of products at AMETEK Process Instruments.  As the Logistics & Traffic Manager, you are responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining strategic and tactical global compliance and legal control programs, policies, and procedures applicable to AMETEK Process Instruements worldwide import and export operations. You will develop and enforce global trade compliance policies and procedures, provide trade expertise in global trade,  and analyze foreign trade laws, regulatory and legislative changes and evaluate their impact on business goals while assessing potential compliance risks for AMETEK Process Instruments.

 

What you will do as the Logistics & Traffic Manager:

  • Manage import/export and all traffic compliance functions (documentation, regulatory)
  • Create and process Export shipment documentation, report AES Filings, including License applications, Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Pro forma Invoices, Site drafts, Letters of Credit, packing slips, etc. to ensure accurate, timely delivery and processing of all shipments, while meeting all laws and export compliance
  • Manage shipment and order entry processes quickly and efficiently in a fast paced, high volume demanding environment, including all packing/shipping activities.
  • Develop leadership and management skills; actively participate in the annual review process, other managerial duties 
  • Determine/utilize/manage necessary resources to maintain/increase on-time shipments for analyzers and spare parts.
  • Analyze shipment requirements and select proper carrier/forwarder to meet all customer order/ LOC requirements.
  • Support all Import compliance requirements with proper import classifications.
  • Develop and maintain files, documents, and records to support all regulatory audit criteria.
  • Review and audit all freight bills and customs entry summaries for proper customs value, for classification accuracy, processing corrections, and meeting compliance.
  • Provide timely responses to Customs requests /notices, and all internal requests regarding classification, duty rates, documentation requirements, or other import regulations.
  • Provide training, maintenance and compliance for import, export, and Hazmat regulations.
  • Ownership of Hazardous Goods compliance to ensure regulatory requirements are met and therefore ensuring all hazardous goods are handled and shipped in a safe manner.
  • Maintain a safe working environment; participate in EH&S compliance support.

 

 

Job Requirements for the Traffic & Logistics Manager:

  • BS in Logistics or International Trade and 2-3 years related experience, or minimum four (4) or more years equivalent demonstrated experience in Import/Export compliance and regulatory environment.
  • Proven experience and expertise in AES processing, License applications, US Customs, EAR, and ITAR Regulations, ECCN, HTSUS, HTS Schedule B classifications, BIS entity screening, and all other US customs requirements.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Navision or similiar ERP Experience, Customs Broker License, and Hazardous Shipment Certification is preferred
  • Thorough understanding of Incoterms.
