Job Description: 

Thermal Process Management Business Unit(TPM) of AMETEK provides ControTrace® steam tracing solutions to heat process piping, tanks, & vessels. TPM also provides ControHeat® steam jacketing solutions to heat valves and instruments used in the petrochemical, chemical, and processing industries.

 

What you will do as the Manager, Information Technology for the TPM Business Unit

 

The Manager, Information Technology, is responsible for the information systems necessary to run the business in a cost-effective and competitive manner.  The Manager, IT ensures the Information Systems are reliable and secure.  In this role, you will plan and manage all IT resources, computer hardware, software, voice, data communications equipment, networks, and office automation systems needed to meet the business objectives. The span of responsibility covers 3 United States business locations within the Thermal Process Management Business Unit. Under the direction of the Vice President of Finance directly manages the business locations IT staff.  Budget control spans all areas of responsibility.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Manager, Information Technology

  • Maintains an Information System Plan under the direction of the DVP, Finance that supports the strategic business plan. The plan covers the human, computer, and communications networks necessary to execute the plan.
  • Plan and manage all information systems necessary to run the office and manufacturing operations for Business Unit and subsidiary locations.
  • Ensure resources are effectively and economically utilized.
  • Support corporate IT SOX compliance and audit requirements. 
  • Ensure the Cyber security of all computer and communications networks and the information that resides within them.
  • Develops the annual IT budget, establish performance targets, and provide budgetary control of IT activities.
  • Evaluates and recommends all acquisition, modifications and changes of equipment used in voice and data communications.
  • Develops/Review, analyze, evaluate, and maintain the AMTEK Global and US business unit policy and procedures for information technology systems with emphasis on manufacturing workflow and related inventory management and valuation functionality to improve process functionality in ERP and ultimately production.
  • Program, develop, test, and deploy custom reports and queries to meet end user requirements and designs.

 

Position Requirements for the Manager, Information Technology

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other with specialized in-depth knowledge of computers, communications, Information Technology, office automation and business
  • 10 years experience in Information technology, systems development and system administration
  • 5 years experience in systems development and ERP support and development experience
  • Microsoft Navision ERP knowledge desirable
  • Strong ability to critically evaluate and prioritize multiple projects
  • Proven Project management experience and ability to plan, direct, and control activities within budgetary constraints
  • Strong interpersonal and executive presence to support excellent interaction with top executives within the business, other IT and corporate level managers, and a variety of vendors outside the organization
