Job Description: 

We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Manager for our Controls Southeast business in Pineville, NC.  The Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for invoicing, collecting, and monitoring the outstanding balances owed to the company.  In this role, you will conduct account research, analysis, and problem resolution of Control Southeast's outstanding accounts and the application of payments. This critical role sits within the business and works along side Sales Engineers and works as part of the team rather than a manager of AR representatives.  In addition, the Accounts Receivable Manager will have the responsibility for the the credit granting process, including the consistent application of credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounts receivable activities to ensure the timely receipt of outstanding balances and the achievement of target levels for collections
  • Communicates with the customer by telephone or email in attempt to determine reason for overdue payments, reviewing terms of sales, service or credit contract with customer and answers customer inquiries regarding invoice discrepancies, statements, and copies of invoices
  • Processing of all invoices timely and accurately
  • Ensure compliance to Company’s Revenue Recognition Policies
  • Design and implement processes to improve Cash Flow and reduce receivables
  • Conduct investigations and verification of financial status and reputation of prospective customers applying for credit, including documentation to substantiate findings, both domestic and international.  Conduct periodic review of existing customer credit lines
  • Recommend rejection or approval of credit applications in accordance with the DLA
  • Manage the Letter of Credit and Bank Guarantee process from inception to collection of payment by working with the Customer, Bank(s) and Corporate Treasury.
  • Creates a weekly and month end Past Due Summary report
  • Requires understanding of issues preventing payment, as well as ability to summarize in concise, meaningful manner to a wide-ranging audience including the CSI / TPM leadership team
  • Develop effective communication with Sales, Estimating, and Project Management to keep all parties informed of credit concerns, collection issues, and updated controls.  
  • Assist in the month end closing and perform Sarbanes Oxley internal control testing

Requirements for the Accounts Receivable Manager:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of work experience with all facets of collections, documentation, and accounting functions
  • Proven experience in working with credit, letters of credit, and bank guarantees
  • Business acumen and saavy with the ability to interact with and influence others effectively while maintaining good customer relationships
  • Ability to work as a team along engineers, sales, and senior leadership and  understand our business process as a key player to business success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with ERP system is required, Navision experience a plus
  • Ability to work in a team and independently with little supervision
