Job Summary:
As a Production Planner, you will be an integral part of our Supply Chain team, working closely with the Operations and Engineering teams. You will take a leadership role in managing and optimizing work orders and production schedules, ensuring the seamless flow of work and materials through our manufacturing process. Your extensive experience will be a cornerstone in supporting data accuracy for BOMs (Bill of Materials), work centers, and routings. In addition to these responsibilities, you will assist the buyer/planners in procuring direct and indirect materials and contracted services for manufactured components. We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record, strong attention to detail, strategic thinking abilities, and excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute production plans and schedules, aligning them with MRP recommendations and customer demand to guarantee on-time delivery of customer orders.
Resource Optimization: Utilize ERP System and Reports to optimize schedules, adjusting them based on labor and material constraints.
Shortage Resolution: Analyze shortage reports and expedite production processes to address material constraints and minimize disruptions.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with Inside Sales, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure adherence to agreed-upon production schedules, particularly for project-based work.
Communication: Maintain open channels of communication with Operations and Purchasing teams to address material constraints affecting work order release.
Inventory Management: Lead and support the inventory cycle count program, resolving any discrepancies and maintaining high accuracy.
Lean Manufacturing: Identify, implement, and oversee process improvements and lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
Supplier Quality: Uphold a 99.5% supplier quality standard and communicate discrepancies as required.
Vendor Relationships: Foster new vendor relationships and procurement channels to support our business and supply chain objectives.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education: A bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or similar environment with a strong track record of progressively responsible roles.
Comprehensive Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes, including inventory control, materials requirements planning, item master, demand planning, and supply chain planning.
Negotiation Expertise: Proven ability to effectively negotiate price, quality, delivery, and other terms with suppliers.
Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with various teams and external partners.
