Job Summary:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse activities for shipping, receiving, material kitting, inventory control and material storage. The warehouse supervisor will manage people, processes, and systems in order to maintain the timely execution of daily activities and ensure high accuracy and customer service levels. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally detail-oriented, able to drive multiple priorities across warehouse operations and have the ability to motivate workers and improve productivity and accuracy by leading by example.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of warehouse associates in Shipping, Receiving, and Stockroom
  • Provide daily direction to the team to maintain material flow for all warehouse operations, receiving, kitting, packaging, and shipping—in support of a high mix / low volume ERP-managed manufacturing environment with a global customer base.
  • Manage stock controls and reconcile with data management system (ERP) for raw materials and finished goods inventory accuracy (cycle count experience preferred)
  • Maintain accuracy and timeliness of daily materials transactions in our ERP inventory management system.
  • Ensures efficient warehouse operations through collaboration and coordination with other departments such as Manufacturing, Purchasing, Planning, and Finance.
  • Maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions. At times, work with the functional leader to develop and implement new policies and procedures.
  • Ensures documentation for international orders to and from the US is compliant with legal requirements.
  • Prepare reports and KPI data to monitor team performance and ensure that internal and external customers' needs are being met. 
  • Crosstrain and assign personnel as needed to optimize efficiency and prioritization of daily work. 
  • Creates and reinforces a culture of teamwork and actively resolves conflicts within the team.
  • Manages proactively by holding regular 1-on-1’s and team meetings to ensure open lines of communication and development opportunities for direct reports.
  • Identify, support, and implement improvement activities in the areas of safety, quality, efficiency, cross-training, etc.
  • Ensure safety incidents are reported and contained and structural solutions are identified and implemented.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience/certifications in lieu of a degree.
  • 4 years related experience in shipping/receiving/stockroom management.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • 2 years of supervisory skills through a culture of accountability and metric-driven objectives.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and practices (Kanban, VMI, etc.)
  • APICS, CPIM, or SCSP Certification
  • Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of warehouse management procedures and best practices.
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Efficient experience with warehouse management software and databases. ERP experience is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with an understanding of internal customer relationship building.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience operating weight scales, floor jacks, and forklifts.

Compensation

Salary Minimum:  $70,000
Salary Maximum:  $90,000
