This individual contributor leadership position owns all aspects of the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) forecasting process, driving the entire capacity plan for both the in-month and future 12 months of demand, ensuring on-time drive of 100% of material via Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and driving all work order and sub-assembly work orders along with bill of materials (BOM) review. The person in this role is required to work with the inventory control team and manufacturing teams to ensure all capacity requirements are met successfully based on their needs for new production and return merchandise authorization (RMA). This employee is responsible for reporting the revenue plan and execution to goal of this plan for the organization. This role requires minimal supervision and reports to the Supply Chain Manager.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages all future revenue planning and the pre-drive of MRP ahead of customer purchase orders through owning the SIOP process to ensure revenue build plan achievement each month
  • Holds sales team accountable for reviewing, repurposing, and selling inventory that was stranded by SIOP discrepancies to ensure achievement of monthly revenue
  • Reviews the MRP reports daily, validates the output for accuracy and initiates corrective action for discrepant issues
  • Interfaces with Purchasing to resolve due date and shortage issues prior to work order release
  • Leverages MRP and purchasing reports to build the monthly capacity plan
  • Executes significant process improvement 
  • Reviews MRP and Reports Net reports daily for actions. Reports to include the MRP exception message report, Allocation of Excess Inventory report, Open Work Order report, Work Center labor and dispatch report, and Project Shortage report.
  • Manages the work order process to include revision control, material availability, work order release, start and completion date maintenance, material allocation changes, Work Center labor requirements, material, and labor variance analysis, and released BOM’s and routers
  • Assists in generating production schedules and Work Center capacity load schedules
  • Drives daily revenue meetings and owns the action plan to clear all shortages to ensure 100% build capability to revenue plan for any given month
  • Manages and executes project production schedules to meet the Master Schedule and contract delivery dates
  • Performs other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A. or B.S.)
  • 5-10 years related experience in Production Control, master planning, revenue management, and inventory management
  • 5 years of experience in production planning in an environment producing electro/mechanical products for the military
  • 5 years of experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Manufacturing Planning Systems, primarily MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and MRP-II (Manufacturing Resource Planning). Experience and understanding of requirements in the requisitioning, purchasing, stocking, control and issuance of inventory.



  • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification is highly desirable
  • Basic knowledge of blueprint readings and interpretation of documentation used in the fabrication and production of electromechanical products. Should have rudimentary knowledge of the processes and procedures required to fabricate, wire and assemble electromechanical sub-assemblies, assemblies, and systems.
  • Ability to develop and improve ERP processes, purchasing support processes, and reporting that allows for clear understanding of different areas for improvement in the SIOP, planning, and material procurement processes
  • Capable of generating and managing complex spreadsheets and reports utilizing: Microsoft Excel (pivot tables) and Microsoft Word
  • Capable of reporting to senior management with accountable metrics-based goal attainment and clear plans for improvement of processes
