Job Description: 

The Material Coordinator is responsible for production activities. The position plans and prepares production schedules by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines and/or processes.
  2. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  3. Interprets specifications and job orders to workers.
  4. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  5. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  6. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of cell, department, or work crew.
  7. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  8. Maintains time and production records.
  9. Releases/modifies works orders to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  10. Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
  11. Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  12. Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, test, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.
  13. Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
  14. Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  15. Prepares production reports.
  16. Prepares lists of required materials, tools, and equipment.
  17. Prepares purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment.
  18. Complete production work orders and pick sales orders for shipment.






Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
