The Finance & Accounting Intern is an exciting opportunity to develop skills in cost and financial accounting.  The Intern will be working with the controllership team, learning about month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations. 

 

AMT is seeking an Accounting Intern. This role will support the controllership team in completing basic cost and financial accounting tasks, including journal entries and reconciliations.  This position will be involved in regular monthly closing tasks and will perform other related general accounting functions as and when required. To be a strong candidate for this position, you should possess an understanding of accounting and financial principles and a positive attitude. You should be collaborative, trustworthy, receptive to feedback, and eager to learn.


The position will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Assist in the month-end close process
  • Ensure assigned reconciliations are completed and ready for review
  • Complete journal entries with support/oversight from team members
  • Perform ad hoc finance tasks as required

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters in progress ideally in Finance, Accounting, Business, or similar field of study

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong attention to detail and inquisitive and exploratory drive
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Ability to prioritize projects, allocate resources in order to meet deadlines
  • Possesses analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively within teams to achieve objectives
  • High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility
  • Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible
  • Understanding of accounting and financial principles
