SUMMARY:
Responsible for the repair and technical support of AMT Detector products. The technician must provide accurate and timely diagnoses and repairs of detectors to meet our customer’s expectations in cycle time, quality, and product specifications. The core function of this position consists of troubleshooting and repairing systems, top level instruments, subassemblies, parts, and components, using computerized or standard test equipment to ensure the unit functions according to internal and published specifications and standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Repair radiation detector vacuum systems, including internal electronic components.
• Troubleshoot vacuum and electronic problems.
• Cleaning, and assemble parts for vacuum assemblies.
• Soldering and/or brazing parts.
• Operation of helium leak detector, and other vacuum equipment.
• Operate vacuum evaporation equipment.
• Clean and maintains vacuum equipment.
• Fills liquid nitrogen containers.
• Cleans and maintains lab area and equipment.
• Provide technical support to Customer Service, Technical Support, and Customer as required.
• Preventative maintenance of all Service Detector Equipment.
• Communicates with customers as needed to ensure understanding of reported fault.
• Completes standard and special documentation of repair work using the current procedures and system tools.
• Provides person-to-person training on product repair, calibration, and operations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Position requires a minimum of a two-year degree in related field AND at least three years of related detectors experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have at least intermediate level experience with oscilloscopes, volt meters and other
test/measurement equipment’s.
• Knowledge and experience with usage of computers.
• Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision.
• Must have experience with good soldering practices.
• Must show skills and ability to work with intricate and fragile components.
• Must be meticulous and have high affinity for details.
• Good knowledge of, and experience with Microsoft Office suite of products and computer data
entry.
