Software Engineer – Co-op. Internship

 

AMETEK/United Electronic Industries (UEI) is a well-established global manufacturer of computer-based measurement and control (I/O) products using leading edge technology to support aerospace, private space launch, and simulation customers.  We are growing and working here offers high visibility in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment.

 

We are looking to hire and mentor a co-op. student who may be interested in gaining experience as a Software Engineer.  The position will report to the Software Engineering Manager and the intern will be exposed to work on projects for fully performing software that complies with coding standards and technical design.  This is a 6-month position starting in January 2024 through June 2024.

 

The Software Engineer Intern will gain hands-on experience by assisting our Software Engineering

Manager in the following areas:

 

·    Write programs and applications to support our measurement and control hardware.

·    Maintain and update our primary GUI diagnostic tools.

·    Maintain software depository.

·    Test and help to debug programs and applications written by our other team members.   

·    Support the applications engineering team to provide them (and our customers) with programming and program debugging efforts.     

                                                                                                               

      Previous exposure and training in some of the following areas preferred:

 

·    Java, Python and C/C++ programming experience preferably programming electronic devices.

·    Solid understanding of Analog to Digital, Digital to Analog and related circuitry

·    Windows and Linux OS experience

·    Experience in a test and measurement or DAQ related field

·    Embedded / Firmware programming experience.

·    Real-time OS experience

·    LabVIEW, MATLAB and/or Simulink experience

·    Test and instrumentation experience

·    Experience with Analog to Digital Converters, Digital to Analog Converters and related circuitry

 

Hourly Rate: $26-34 per hour, depending on experience.
