Your Impact:
The Director, IT will be responsible for providing leadership & both the strategic and tactical direction of all IT system and infrastructure activities for the Telular business unit. The Director, IT will partner with business leaders to anticipate and recommend opportunities and manage the daily activities and operations of the IT department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the areas of network security, data processing, systems programming and analysis, systems and network administration, equipment and software purchases as well as the telecommunications infrastructure.
- Responsible for the development and performance management of the IT department staff.
- Manage the planning, design and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the WAN/LAN network infrastructure.
- Establish and implement network security and act as gatekeeper for other developers and engineers to ensure security compliance.
- Oversee troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provide expert support when necessary.
- Establish and maintain high-quality relationships with all levels across the company and with external partners.
- Provide auxiliary IT support to satellite sites within the business unit, travel required.
- Align local initiatives and processes with the direction and support from Corporate IT.
- Ensure networks, workstations, operating systems and software applications are operational.
- Ensure hardware and software is patched and/or updated
- Oversee help desk activities. Respond to escalated help desk issues. Interact with internal users on all levels to help resolve IT-related issues and provide answers in a timely manner.
- Partner with management teams to develop and execute a strategy including identifying the appropriate use of technology to improve the capabilities and performance of the businesses
- Ensure corporate standards and policies related to IT and Business Systems are in compliance.
- Lead technical aspects of ERP implementation projects
- Support computer-based systems and related processes that provide information for reporting and operations.
- Manage related products, systems, upgrades and changes locally.
- Manage the maintenance of network administrative functions, including user and email accounts.
- Oversee local inventory of networks, workstations and software applications.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations.
- Responsible for IT related Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems (IS) or other forms of technical emphasis or equivalent academic experience combined with technical work experience
- 10 years network management and computer systems experience, with at least 5 years in a hands-on leadership/management role
- Proficient in the management and configuration of a Windows Active Directory Domain
- Experienced in managing Cisco firewalls, routers and switches
- Must be a good problem solver with strong project and process management skills
- Solid service orientation with effective interpersonal and communications
- Must have proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- High-level project leadership skills that include organization and time management skills.
- Travel less than 5% domestic travel
