Job Description: 

This Project Engineer position is a dual role for our HKP organization.  You will serve as a liaison between a third party administering environmental compliance and the Quality Assurance department in support of customer compliance reporting. You will also be an integral part of the engineering design team and review process for determining ways to enhance existing products and develop new ones.


What you will do:

  • Develop & maintain internal compliance processes as required to ensure a well-defined compliance program
  • Assist in the collection and management of data to ensure environmental compliance needs are met
  • Support the collection and management of Environmental Compliance data to support engineering teams and related business needs during product development through product end of life
  • Recommend alternative materials and formulations for existing or new products in collaboration with other departments to improve product characteristics
  • Analyze materials and data, develop new methods of testing, conduct tests, troubleshoot, monitor performance, ensure quality control, and create documentation to support outcomes


What we are looking for:

  • BS or MS in Materials Science from an accredited college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Working knowledge of global environmental regulations (RoHS, REACH, and TSCA)
  • Knowledge and/or design experience using high-performance polymers, low friction coatings, and surface treatments
  • Sound scientific and technical analytical skills
  • Easily handles project multitasking with timelines
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • CAD/3D modeling, SolidWorks preferred

  • While performing the duties of this job, frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
