Job Description: 

“Hands-On” IT manager to be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of our computer systems. Proven working experience as an IT manager or relevant experience; knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems.  The selected candidate will work to develop troubleshooting strategies to help reduce downtime and create strategies for upgrading network and server infrastructure without impact to the business.  Project and team leadership will be a key to this candidate’s success; constructing and implementing plans to ensure all components within the IT infrastructure operate smoothly and can recover quickly from an outage.  This position will work with other department managers to assess the growth needs and maintenance requirements of business systems.  This position requires working knowledge of all facets of IT:

  • PC desktop support
  • Servers (hardware and virtual)
  • Networking devices (switches, firewall, router…)
  • VPN Communications
  • Telecommunications Equipment (Phone systems)
  • Digital Circuits (MPLS and SD-Wan)

Responsibilities:

  • Training and coaching of employees
  • Lead IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services within designated timeframes
  • Ensure security and integrity of data and network access
  • Identify problematic systems and areas within the business and implement strategic solutions to bring systems into compliance
  • Monitor performance of information technology systems and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure and architecture to increase performance while limiting downtime
  • Help define internal IT processes and procedures to streamline internal workflows
  • Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs

Qualifications for IT Manager

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience working in IT operations
  • Experience successfully leading and managing IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
