Job Description: 

The Master Production Scheduler leads, reviews, and maintains the production schedule for all work centers within their assigned product line. They will ensure that the master production schedule is being executed, effective capacity is available, accurate inventory levels are maintained, and shipment are on time to our customers’ requirements. This position works closely with production supervisors, engineering, purchasing, and some suppliers to ensure the customers’ needs and the organizations objectives are met.  

 

Essential Functions

  1. ​Work with ERP, MRP, Kanban, Min/Max and other inventory control systems to balance supply with demand in a dynamic environment 

  1. For assigned product lines, act a project manager. You will lead status meeting, provide live updates on part shortage, capacity constraints, schedule conflicts, revenue risk, and any barriers that would prevent and on time to commit to our customers 

  1. Create work orders for both standard and non-standard products to support customer required delivery dates 

  1. Run Material Forecast meetings and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) 

  1. Review material requirements for new product introduction, product obsolescence, and Engineering Change Orders (ECO) 

  1. Interact with manufacturing, sales, shipping, receiving and stockroom personnel to meet schedule requirements 

  1. Work with Procurement to initiate purchasing of materials and ideal purchasing methods to meet planning schedule. 

  1. Performs other related duties as assigned. 

 

Required Competencies  

 

  1. Strong ability to communicate in verbal and written form. Strong ability to follow verbal or written instructions 

  1. Able to solve problems by collecting data and using critical thinking skills 

  1. Able to use Power Point, Access, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Projects, and advanced Excel skills (for example the ability to use pivot tables, v-look ups, graphing and complex spreadsheets).   

  1. Ability to organize reports, folders, and communications from multiple sources. Strong ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. 

  1. Ability to work with many diverse groups  

  1. Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment 

  1. Able to think outside the box and offer and/or implement suggestions to improve processes 

  1. Performs other related duties as assigned 

 

BS Degree in Business or related field or 5-10 years of Management experience in a Manufacturing Environment. APICS Certification is desirable
