CNC Machinist Overview:

Operates CNC and non-CNC machines to perform any combination of machining operations such as but not limited to: drilling, milling, shaping of glassy materials to specification. Assembles cutting tools in tool holders and positions tools in machine spindles according to  requirements., Loads, edits and stores programs. Writes machine programs to produce accurate machined parts. Works from complicated drawings, sketches, specifications, written and or verbal instructions. Observs machine operations and verifies that machine is operating correctly to set parameters. Performs difficult and complex set ups and operates machinery on assignment from new and unusual to difficult under minimal supervision with direction from engineering or area manager.

 

Duties:

Follows safety regulations

Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition

Understands and follows ISO procedures

Reads and understands blue prints, and process routings

Performs other similar and related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent and 1+ years related experience

Working knowledge of shop math and shop theory. 

Ability to read and interpret blue prints
