Job Description: 

Under the direction of the BU Controller, Vice President of Finance, the Manager, IT is responsible for managing all organization technologies and providing technology support and training for the Fluid Analysis Business Unit. This includes domestic and international operating locations for the Brookfield, Spectro Scientific and Grabner Instruments businesses.  Primary duties include management and development of BU IT team, analyzing systems and processes to promote process excellence; maintaining workstations and networks; project management of ERP projects, and designing, developing, and maintaining business applications.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A successful candidate must have both technical and administrative skills, which provide effective and efficient utilization of IT resources to meet BU requirements. Subsequently, the position requires a general academic background with specialized in-depth knowledge of systems, communications, Information Technology, office automation and manufacturing operations to effectively interact with top executives within the business; with other IT and corporate level managers; and with a variety of vendors outside the organization; the incumbent must possess advanced interpersonal skills.

  • Manage all aspects of business systems and information technology in the Business Unit.
  • Partner with business unit management teams to develop and execute strategy including identifying the appropriate use of IT to improve the capabilities and performance of the Business Unit.
  • Directly manage IT-related positions at multiple locations, responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
  • Maintains and continuously develops corporate IT SOX compliance and audit requirements. 
  • Manage Syteline and Navision ERP systems
  • Present and implement technological alternatives to streamline functions and improve productivity
  • Develop and maintain technology policies, standards, and procedures manual; develops and maintains related technology checklists
  • Ensures the Cyber security of all computer and communications networks and the information that resides within them.
  • Develops the annual IT budget, establish performance targets, and provide budgetary control of IT activities.
  • Ensure the Business Unit is adhering to all corporate information security standards and policies.
  • Develop enterprise (multi-location) integration solutions
  • Responsible for the discovery, mitigation, and documentation of information technology risks
  • Review, analyze and evaluate business processes and procedures with emphasis on manufacturing workflow and related inventory management and valuation functionality to improve process functionality in ERP and production.
  • Program, develop, test, and deploy custom reports and queries to meet end user requirements and designs.
  • Analyze technology requirements and develop functional specifications; Conduct comparative analysis and competitive bidding when necessary

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, Minimum 10 years' related experience within a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
  • Minimum 3 years project management experience with systems upgrade, implementation or process improvement
  • Experience with engineering, e-commerce and marketing systems preferred.

 

CORE COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong background in manufacturing and with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Requires strong knowledge of Finance, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and distribution
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and conduct multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) required
  • Demonstrated project management experience
