Position Summary:

The Director, Business Development will have four primary goals:

  • New Business Growth:  Refine and execute growth strategies to establish and grow Forza’s standard product business.

  • Channel Development:  Develop the necessary channels to market and support the new standard product business growth.

  • Future Innovation:  Leverage customer and market insights to create business cases for new product development.

  • Generating New Business:  Identify new leads, connect with potential customers, and drive new qualified leads into Forza’s existing custom & semi-custom design services.

 

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Engineering and Product Management teams and will acquire new customers through identification, prioritization, strategic analysis, and sales plan development/execution.   

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership through targeted selling to promote new standard product business.

  • Compile market insights to develop business plans, profit margin analysis, and business risk assessments that lead to sustainable, profitable growth results.

  • Cultivate new leads for existing custom & semi-custom design services business with extensive travel to current and potential new customers, trade shows, sales representatives, and foundry partners.

  • Work collaboratively across various functions and departments, particularly with Engineering and Integrated Production Services, in developing business opportunities to drive relevant innovation, partnerships, and resource investments/alignment.

  • Identify, monitor, and research market conditions/trends for new business opportunities and present learnings that drive necessary recommendations and action plans to deliver new business opportunities.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Technical bachelor’s degree (EE or Physics) combined with strong business acumen.

  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in business development, marketing, and/or sales leadership

  • Understanding in the areas of CMOS technology, digital and analog design, test electronics, and camera electronics.

  • Enjoy traveling globally, to where business opportunities arise.

  • Ability to prepare and effectively present a business plan.

  • Ability to apply qualitative and quantitative techniques to interpret data.

  • Demonstrated ability to express and embrace an entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to present findings and recommendations succinctly and accurately through oral and written communications

  • Highly motivated with strong organization and time management skills to operate under minimal direct supervision.

  • Have a relevant network in the image sensor industry and/or in any of our target markets (medical, entertainment, government, machine vision, life-science)

  • Good English oral and written communication skills are required.
