We are looking for a full-time undergraduate Engineer in Mechanical, Engineering Management or related discipline to join our Operations team for a 12-month placement as an Operational Excellence Engineer.

This is a great opportunity for a person to learn and utilise Lean tools alongside the development of technical knowledge and interpersonal skills.

The work is varied, challenging, rewarding and includes exposure to our product design, production processes and business practices.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Analysis of processes and data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Progress our Lean initiatives by driving out wastes in our processes.
  • Use of a variety of continuous improvement (Lean) initiatives and projects including, root cause analysis, value stream mapping, Kaizen events and project management.
  • Develop tools to standardize workplace organisation & visual management.
  • Use creative problem solving to deliver quality improvements to achieve ‘Right First Time’ standards.
  • Optimise material flow, process flow, and layouts using Lean/Six Sigma principles.
  • Interface with the various department functions to ensure improvements are implemented and sustained.
  • Assist in the organisation and facilitation of meetings, workshops and events
  • Support key business projects.

  • Experience using SolidWorks CAD/CAM
  • Working towards a minimum of a 2:1 in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Management
  • Geographically available to attend on site.
  • Confidence to work on your own initiative as well as being part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Be fluent in oral and written English.
