Job Description: 

Haydon Kerk Pittman is a leading international manufacturer of linear systems and actuators, stepper motors, acme screws, and nuts used widely in many industries. Globally, we operate in the U.S., Asia, as well as Europe. Our German headquarters are located in Lauf a.d. Pegnitz near Nuremberg.
 

We are currently looking for an Inside Sales & Customer Service Rep (m/f/d) to complete our Sales & Application team. Our new colleague will be responsible for supporting external sales colleagues and order management with selling technical products to various markets.  Supports customer order entry and order fulfillment process, including analyzing and processing customer inquiries, orders, acknowledgments, returns, credits, debits, and requests for information regarding delivery, expedites, pushouts, and general order and process information.

 

What you will do:

  • Establish and maintain good relations with customers (internal and external).  Investigate and resolve customer issues
  • Communicate and collaborate with various departments such as engineering and operations.  Work closely with outside sales colleagues to keep account activities and communications up to date
  • Compile a list of prospective customers for use as sales leads based on information from a variety of sources
  • Make outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers to qualify leads and sell products/services
  • Handle inbound sales lead calls
  • Emphasize saleable features, quote prices and credit terms, and prepare sales orders within ERP systems
  • Review all incoming customer orders to ensure that the part number, quantity, product specifications, and price are consistent with those stated in the quotation; Ensure orders meet all Sarbanes Oxley compliance criteria
  • Enter and process orders into the operating system and advise customer and field sales of acknowledged ship dates as provided by the manufacturing plants; Advise customers of discrepancies between the quote and purchase order and work with them to obtain a revised, corrected copy of the purchase order
  • Perform customer relation duties on products sold by acting as a liaison between the customer, field sales, and AMETEK to ensure customer satisfaction; Re-direct customers to appropriate departments and/or to the website for RMA requests
  • Work with customers and Operations for requested expedited delivery on orders to meet customer delivery requirements
  • Coordinate with outside sales as appropriate; Forward copies of correspondence to the sales team, and manufacturer sale teams as necessary, to enable them to follow up on new business opportunities, quotes, and service problems
  • Keep leadership informed with regard to unusual situations or particularly large inquiries, changes in shipment, or delivery trends that may affect AMETEK sales 
  • Adjust customer’s accounts or orders, based on complaints concerning billing, referring complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation

 

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Apprenticeship or comparable education required
  • Related experience within a manufacturing environment
  • German and English language proficiency (minimum level C1)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Must demonstrate excellent internal and external communication skills and strong customer focus
  • Must be able to work well within a team or independently and demonstrate initiative to drive for results
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills required
  • Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a diverse team environment
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally (<5%)
