Job Description: 

The Vice President, Information Technology (IT) will have overall responsibility for the stable and efficient operation of the Division’s Business Systems environment. He/she will be a business partner with the Division General Manager and his staff and will anticipate and recommend opportunities where Information Technology can advance the capabilities of, and be utilized to provide a competitive advantage for, the Division. The Vice President, IT will develop and execute a strategic plan for the Division’s systems within the context of the overall Division business strategy and the company’s IT strategic direction.


In addition to serving as the IT leader for the Division, the Vice President, IT will also provide enterprise IT support at the AMETEK corporate level, working closely with the corporate team on initiatives affecting IT across all divisions. This includes providing participation in future acquisition due diligence, post-acquisition integration, Sarbanes Oxley audit support, and Cybersecurity when appropriate.


What you will do:

  • Manage all aspects of business systems and information technology in the AMS Division

  • Work with the business unit management teams to develop and execute strategy including identifying the appropriate use of IT to improve the capabilities and performance of the Division

  • Ensure a stable and efficient business system and communications environment

  • Lead the IT due diligence activities for acquisitions; Make significant contributions to work in investigations of potential acquisitions and lead post-acquisition integration execution and delivery

  • Develop and maintain a high-performing Business Systems and Information Technology Team

  • Contribute to the development of corporate standards and Policies related to IT and Business Systems

  • Provide thought leadership around the application of Sarbanes Oxley and Cyber Security compliance standards

  • Ensure the Division is adhering to all corporate information security standards and policies

  • Lead the deployment of cybersecurity initiatives in line with AMETEK policy within the Division

  • Provide business analytics in support of the business growth strategies

  • Participate in future acquisition due diligence and integrations


What we are looking for:

  • 10+ years of proven, progressive IT leadership, including global experience in an engineering-centric, product development, and delivery organization, and as a successful IT business leader who understands and leads technology's application for driving real business value.  Also, a proven track record of exceptional IT build, deliver and support experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, ideally computer science or engineering, or related discipline with an IT focus; advanced degree or MBA is plus

  • Strong business and financial acumen

  • Prior experience in a business operations role and/or a consulting practice is highly desirable

  • Experience developing executable strategic plans

  • Success in managing an IT organization including budgeting, hiring, developing, and positioning resources in support of the function

  • Excellent communication and presentational skills

  • Well-developed critical thinking and diagnostic skills

  • Experience evaluating, conducting due diligence on, and integrating acquisitions is highly desirable

  • Experience in a Six Sigma/LEAN Manufacturing environment where these tools were applied to the “office” environment is preferred

  • Ability to predict, recognize and manage cultural and technological changes within the organization and the corresponding transitions required; It is essential to understand technology direction and trends, and their strategic business impact

  • Experience leading full life cycle ERP and CRM implementations in a multi-site discrete manufacturing business

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
