SUPERVISOR - MACHINE SHOP

We are seeking a Supervisor - Machine Shop with the experience and ability to tSupervise shop/grind operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures. Ensure smooth operation during all shifts.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
- Train and coach production line employees.
- Conduct employee performance reviews.
- Responsible for shift schedule to include: work station assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees.
- Maintain dispatch list and/or hotlist.
- Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers.
- Schedule and conduct meetings.
- Responsible to meet production goals.
- Responsible for quality control. Make adjustments as necessary during shift to product within specifications.
- Operate within Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA’S).
- Communicate with other Shift Supervisors and Production Manager.
- Ensure a clean, safe work area.
- Complete shift paperwork.
- Assist on production as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Assist repairs on all minor breakdowns. Move machines or assist riggers (work on leveling).
- Assist in overseeing all contractors for large machine repairs and preventive maintenance. Work on minimizing down time. Implement a preventative maintenance program.
- Assist in supervising removal of coolant, store and recycle under State of NH guidelines to remain a small quantity generator. Remove and discard or recycle all waste metal chips from shop.
- Package parts that go out on a daily basis.
- Keep inventory of all raw/stock material.
- Keep all tools in good condition.
- Oversee all manpower needed to finish the tasks.

- Meeting with vendors.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures and programming, and machinery. This is normally acquired through 2-5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
- “APICS” detailed scheduling and planning.
- Fork truck license.
- Driver’s license.
CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITES:
- Assist in the planning of work required during plant shut-down.
- Machine Supervisors’ last and most important responsibility is to carry out all of these tasks and make sure that they are complete, if there is no one else to dedicate these tasks to.
